Pink Tourmaline
Tourmaline is from the mineral family Elbait, named after the island of Elba in Italy.
Tourmalines come in various colours including black, brown, violet and green (verdelite and Brazilian emerald), as well as pink (rubellite). The word tourmaline has two etymologies both from the Sinhalese word turumali, meaning either "stone attracting ash" or "mixed sources".
Tourmaline is one of the birthstones of October.
