Blue Topaz
Blue Topaz is a blue stone whose intensity varies from light to very intense blue. These variations are called sky blue topaz, Swiss blue topaz and London blue topaz. Topaz also comes in the smokey topaz variety, which is brown in colour.
The name derives from Topazos, a small island in the Red Sea, where the Romans obtained a stone which they called by this name.
Blue topaz is the birthstone for December.
